Inspired by a TV programme about villages around UK presented by Penelope Keith which featured a churchyard being maintained by local residents, I set about meeting the Vicar and the Town Council to discuss ways and means to make the Parish churchyard more attractive/cared for.

The result is the formation of the Friends of St. John Baptist Churchyard- a small group currently six in number who meet regularly to work on a 5 year plan to improve the churchyard and make it more of a wildlife haven for people to enjoy.
